What you’ll need

Before you use one of these calculators, you will need some basic information about your income and outgoings. You should make sure this information is as accurate as possible:

  • savings 

  • income, including your partner’s (e.g. from payslips)
  • existing benefits and pensions (including about anyone living with you) 

  • outgoings (e.g. rent, mortgage, electricity bills) 

  • Council tax bill.
