The Woodville Centre

The Centre is open from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week (including bank holidays).

At the Woodville Centre we focus on sensory stimulation and combine services to help individuals stay independent, in a safe and friendly environment. You can attend the centre if you are aged 60 or over and have been diagnosed with moderate to severe dementia or have high level care and support needs.

The centre is designed to support people who need specialist care and support and can offer a welcome break for their carers. People are encouraged to move around freely and enjoy all of the facilities available and take part in group activities. The centre offers a comfortable and relaxing setting, with domestic pets adding to a homely feel.

Carers and families are always invited to take part in special events such as music concerts, as well as join in at our regular meetings for carers.

How it works

If you are thinking about attending the centre, you will need to have an assessment first. Having an assessment is free of charge and it can help you and others understand your needs better and it will help you think through the options. If you are eligible for care and support from the Council, they will support you to develop a personalised plan that sets out what's important to you and how you want to be supported.

Even if you’re not eligible for support from the Council, they will always give you information and advice tailored to your circumstances and let you know if there are any other services which may be able to help you.

How much it will cost

You will most likely have to pay something towards your care, how much you pay will depend on your individual circumstances. If you are eligible for financial support from the Council, they will work out how much you can contribute towards the cost of attending the centre. You will still need to pay for the full cost of any meal that you receive.

If you are not eligible for financial support from the Council, you can still attend the centre but will have to pay the full cost every month:

  • Attendance with return transport is £66
  • Attendance with one way transport is £60
  • Attendance with no transport is £55

The cost of day care attendance for out of borough clients is £76 per day.

Cost per meal is £5.40 for Richmond residents and £9 for out of borough clients.
